Liquidator Music presents a historical document, the first recordings of Roy Ellis 50 years after its original publication, never before reissued in any format.
In 1964 Roy Ellis, a Jamaican adolescent emigrated to London, published two of his first compositions accompanied by the best of the Jamaican scene of all time: Ernest Ranglin on guitar, Georgie Fame on organ, Tony Washington on piano, Eddie 'Tan So 'Thornton on trumpet, Rico on trombone, Sonny Burke on sax and the rest of the lineup Roy Ellis does not remember her well after half a century.
This recording was produced by Sonny Burke in 1963 and would see the light in 1964 under the English label Ember Records. Liquidator Music has recovered these two unique jewels and has remastered them to be edited in a 7 "single with luxury, with unpublished photos and texts written by Roy Ellis himself.
